Ana Isabel sends a coloured envelope filled with images of Portuguese symbols and other "typical" Portuguese things: the Cock of Barcelos, grapes, olives, the Portuguese flag, Ginja (a liqueur made from ginja berries - Morello cherries), and a “Lenço dos Namorados” (handkerchief embroidered by a young girl for her potential sweetheart, see internet for interesting details, e.g. http://danielapereira blender.wordpress.com/2012/11/01/lencos-dos-namorados/)
After my moving to Oldenburg, allowing myself again some time to zap some German mail-art websites, I discovered Frieder Speck. Having appreciated his work, I sent him KONTRAST n°2!
This is the second mail art I receive this year from Patricio, "The Celestial Scribe" from Curitiba (Brazil). Besides a wonderful intriguing photo, Patricio includes a text about "Angels of Mercy" and a small Poética envelope containing an even smaller red&white
mini-envelope with a blue Bomfim-da-Bahia wish ribbon!
The puzzling photo shows a mysterious lady, standing on a Buddha sculpture and wearing a flag with
the words "You don't mess with Willemien any more, don't you!". In
the margin, the inscription says
Sebastiaan received for his birthday -today!- KONTRAST n°4, the 4th instance of my new "series" (let's see if it becomes indeed a series!) KONTRASTE, that is, contrasts —now that I am living in Germany, I also need to use the German language!
